According to the most recent musicological studies, this edition presents all of Walther's currently ascertainable free organ works and chorale settings in their entirety.
The chorale settings for organ stand at the center of Walther's compositional oeuvre, and a large number of them have survived in his autograph miscellanies (only few works were printed). Save for some minor losses, these highly important documents have fortunately escaped destruction, and the state of the source material is generally very positive.
A "mammoth" recording of the awardwinning and prized organist Simone Stella.
Sound is captured with 4-mics (Neumann), two closer (large diaphram), two farer (small diaphram). Mixing is without any addition.
