This recording of Chopin’s works by the Venetian pianist Roberto Poli couples the familiar with the unknown to reveal a different persona from the romantics’ Chopin, one closely attuned to popular tastes and actively engaged with the political strife of his own day. The collection also emphasizes what the nineteenth century failed to appreciate fully: a master craftsman in full command of large-scale musical forms. (James H. Johnson - Associate Professor of History, Boston University)
This is the first album of "The Chopin series" Roberto Poli is recordings for OnClassical.

Incontestably, Roberto Poli belongs to the recent breed of precious musicians-pianists, less rare than it is thought among today's young generation, who take the time to let the music breathe to reveal it to us more fully! —Pierre-Yves Lascar (29/09/2011)
Finally what promises to be a complete Chopin cycle from Roberto Poli. All the performances on his issue are the fruit of deep affection and consideration, where in fragments he recreates something special. [...] in Poli own words, 'A labour of love'. —Bryce Morrison (07/10/2011)
[Roberto Poli] rendition is flowing and shimmering, like a seaside painted by Seurat. Granted many fine Chopin collections are available, but I think Poli's disc repays careful study. —Dave Saemann (09/02/2012)
